Our clinicians

A psychologist, a clinical social worker, a marriage and family therapist and two mental health counselors. Read how each one works, then ask for anyone by name.

Dr. Lucia Tamsett, PsyD

Clinical director, licensed psychologist, practicing since 2008

Most people wait a long time before they call. I want that first call to be the easy part.

Lucia opened the practice in 2014 with one office and a plan to add clinicians whose training covered what hers did not. There are five now. Every Tuesday morning they meet to talk through cases that need a second view.

In her own sessions, Lucia sees adults about anxiety and worry, grief, and seasons when a lot changes at once: a move, a divorce, a retirement. She uses cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT).

Gideon Ashcombe, a man in his early forties with short brown hair, a short beard and a light blue shirt

Gideon Ashcombe, LCSW

Licensed clinical social worker, practicing since 2015

Gideon spent six years as a hospice social worker before he joined the practice, and grief is still the work he is asked about most. He sees adults after a death, a divorce, a diagnosis or a job loss.

He also sees people for work stress and burnout, and many men who have never been in therapy before. His sessions are practical: what is happening this week, and what you want to try before the next one.

Malcolm Tredway, LMFT

Licensed marriage and family therapist, practicing since 2006

Malcolm has worked with couples and families for twenty years. Many couples describe the same argument coming back in different clothes. His first job is to slow it down until both people can hear what it is about.

He sees married and unmarried couples, couples deciding whether to stay together, parents and adult children, and blended families. He trained in the Gottman Method and in emotionally focused therapy (EFT).
